What are the registration fees for 2026?

The registration fees vary by division and can be paid in instalments (below) or in full at the time of registration.

Please note that Lacrosse Canada has announced fee increases for the 2026 season affecting both player, coach and executive registrations. These increases are being implemented nationally, provincially and are outside the control of local associations. We have kept this increase to the minimum possible to ensure we can continue to offer affordable programming for our members.

Note: All registrants will be required to add proof of residency at time of registration in order to ensure they are registered for the correct member organization. Proof of residency documents include  parental or player’s driver’s license with current address on it, utility or cable bills documenting residency associated with player’s registration.

Are there any additional fees?

  • "A" team registration fee: $100, payable at the time of registration and before the January 15th deadline for U13 & U15 tryout intentions.
  • Family volunteer commitment: $200, due at the time of registration.

What do my registration fees cover?

  • ALA Player Registration Fee: This is the basic fee for registering as a player with ALA.
  • Shorts: Each player will receive game day shorts. Families can opt out of receiving new shorts during registration if they do not need them. The design and sizing will remain consistent with previous years. Need more info on short sizing - Xtreme Threads Sizing
  • Photos: Each player will receive a memory mate of their individual and team photo. Families can choose to order additional prints on photo day.

Additionally, registration fees assist the Club with costs related to software registration, floor time rentals, equipment replacement and maintenance, storage locker, and insurance.

Are there financial assistance options available?

  • You can pay registration fees in instalments (see schedule above) or pay them in full.
  • Sport Central was created by community-minded individuals who wanted to see children have access to necessary sport equipment.  For more information on Sport Central go to https://sportcentral.org/
  • KidSport subsidizes sport registration fees for local kids. Through a grant program called, KidSport's ‘So ALL Kids Can Play!’ Program. For more information go to https://kidsportcanada.ca/alberta/edmonton/

I have a friend who wants to play, are there any referral incentives?

  • Both the new player and player who referred the new player will receive a $25 registration credit.
  • Referral information must be added during at the time of registration of new player.
  • While we love having siblings play in multiple divisions, new sibling registrations will be exempt from this program.

Interested in Playing Goalie?

  • That's fantastic! For the 2026 season, U9 -U17 goalies who play full-time for the entire season will have their registration fees refunded at the end of the season.
  • What if my player tries the goalie position and doesn't like it? To qualify for the refund, players must complete the entire season as a goalie.

Where do games and practices take place?

  • Practices and select home games are usually scheduled in arenas throughout the south quadrant of Edmonton, with majority taking place at Donnan or George Hughes.
  • The Warriors club is a member of the Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council which means games could be scheduled in areas throughout the Greater Edmonton and surrounding areas, including Strathcona County, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain.
  • For more information on game nights and other season information visit the GELC website. Practices will be scheduled based on floor time availability.

Is there much travel involved in box lacrosse?

  • All teams are required to travel to the home arenas of other clubs for about half of the games they play. Most teams choose to participate in at least one out-of-town tournament during the season. Teams that are successful in making it to the Provincial Championships must travel to the host location of the tournament

U7

All teams will participate in 1 weekend of play (Saturday or Sunday) in May, and June against other clubs.  Member clubs will schedule practices and in-house games at their discretion.

U7 will have a wrap up GELC Jamboree style tournament on June 2026.

U9

January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2019

U9 Lacrosse will be played as per the Lacrosse Canada Rule Book - Option L

U9 Season Play will begin April 2026. Weekday games will be scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday, with a start time of 6:00pm or 7:00pm. There will be weekend play with Westlock. Member clubs will schedule practices at their discretion.

U9 will have a wrap up GELC Jamboree style tournament on June 2026.

U11

January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2017

U11 Lacrosse is played in tiers B, C levels of play.

Weekday games will be scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday, with a start time of 6:00pm or 7:00pm. There will be weekend play with Westlock. Member clubs will schedule practices at their discretion.

U13

January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2015

U13 Lacrosse is played in tiers A,B, C levels of play.

U13B and U13 Women's Division Season Play will begin April 2026.

U13B and U13W weekday games will be scheduled on  Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with a start time of anywhere between 6:00-8:15pm. There will be some weekend play. Member clubs will schedule practices at their discretion.

U15

January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2013

U15 Lacrosse is played in tiers A,B, C levels of play.

U15B and U15 Women's Division Season Play will begin April 2026. Weekday games will be scheduled on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with a start time of anywhere between 7:00-8:30pm. There will be some weekend play. Member clubs will schedule practices at their discretion.

U15A Division Season Play will begin April 2026. U15A  weekday games will be scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday, with a start time of anywhere between 7:00-8:30pm. There will be some weekend play. Member clubs will schedule practices at their discretion.

U17

January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011

U17B and U17 Women's Division Season Play will begin on April 2026. U17B and U17W weekday games will be scheduled any day of the week with a start time of anywhere between 7:00-8:30pm. There will be some weekend play. Member clubs will schedule practices at their discretion.

U17A Division - Wild Rose Lacrosse League will be played on weekends. Regional games will be scheduled any day of the week. Member clubs will schedule practices at their discretion.

Note: U11 & up includes male or female only teams. 

How are the U7-U9 teams structured?

  • U7-U9 teams are co-ed and balanced with both experienced and new players. Friend requests can be made during registration, and only mutual requests will be honored.

 What is the new team formations for U11-U15 Male teams?

  • U11-U15 Male teams will operate with A,B and C levels of play. All registered players will attend applicable tiering sessions in February. Due to development tiering, friend requests will not be honoured for U11-U17 divisions.

What is the process for forming "A" teams for Male teams? (Note: at this time, Female teams are not tiered)

  • U13 & U15: The GELC has removed the zone boundary requirements. Interested players must register and check the applicable box at the time of registration by January 15th. Clubs are to declare "A" team intentions in January.  If a club does not declare an 'A' team, players from that club will be offered an opportunity to try-out with another member club determined by the GELC Board of Directors based on boundary and registration data. 
  • U17: No changes were made for the upcoming season. All interested players will register with the Warriors and attend a centralized zone-based try-out session. At this time, no cut-off date has been communicated for declaring intention. 
  • All interested players must complete the "A" Team intent contract prior to the first scheduled try-out date.

 What happens if the Warriors do not have enough players for U11-U17 Female teams?

  • If the Warriors do not have enough players, players may be reassigned to another club within the Greater Edmonton area to help fill teams.

Where can I buy equipment?

  • Equipment can be purchased from a number of local sports equipment retailers. Local retailers include: United Cycle (7620 Gateway Blvd.); Totem Outfitters (7430 - 99 Street) or Play It Again Sports (5239 55 Ave NW).
  • You may wish to search buy and sell groups online to find gently used equipment. The Warriors Facebook page features a Lacrosse Equipment Swap page.

How are coaching assignments determined?

  • All interested coaches must complete the coaching application on the Warriors website by January 15th. Coaching assignments will be determined by the club administration to ensure a fair and balanced distribution of coaching talent. Coaches are requested not to email the registrar to request specific coaching pairings. Additionally, coaches should not register in RAMP until they have been approved as coaches or other bench staff.

What is the family volunteer commitment?

  • Each family (excl U7 families) must pay $200 at registration. After completing any of the listed tasks, they can submit the verification form to request a refund. Refund requests must be made by September 30th of the current season. After this date, refunds will not be issued. As volunteer opportunities arise, we will post them on our volunteer site for members to sign up.

Please note that volunteering at the casino is not included as part of this volunteer commitment.

What is the club-wide fundraising event for 2026?

  • The club hosts a casino every 2 years. For 2026, the casino date is March 22 and 23 at the Pure Casino on Fort Road. Due to changes in AGLC rules, key positions must be filled by club members. Each volunteer will receive $200 for each shift worked, which will apply to future registration credits for the following season. All volunteers must be 18 years of age. What is the refund policy?

Written refund requests must be received by the registrar (registrar@warriorslacrosse.ca) within 48 hours of registration and must include the following information: Player Name, Parent(s) Name(s), Home Address, Phone Number and Reason for the refund request.

All refunds will be subject to a 2.15% credit card fee. After 48 hours the initial fee of $75 is non-refundable.

After March 15 no refunds will be given, unless it is for a medical reason. In this case please email the registrar and your request will be reviewed by the board.
